As a small business owner this particular C word is something that I pay attention to quite a lot – Collaboration. Linking with other businesses serves a small business owner well. It brings added value to your clients and provides you with exposure to potentially new clients. Collaborating with other businesses helps you keep costs down and reduces the need to reinvent the wheel.
I work for a highly collaborative company. I provide social media management and others provide a variety of other services. The sole business owner of this company is unable to deliver the myriad of services that her clients are seeking. By having a team of collaborators she can deliver the package of services that each individual client is looking for. In turn there's a natural wheel of synergy which we can tap into to share ideas and information.
I am also part of a large and busy Facebook group for ladies who run their own business in France. Many members get involved in collaboration without really realising it... those few words of help quite often turn into work. Members will quite often put out the question to ask if there are others who would want to collaborate. Quite often we see – massage services connect with gite owners. Online groups and communities are a great way to nurture relationships and bring collaboration to a whole new level.
Small businesses should seek opportunities of synergy and collaboration wherever possible. If you would like to chat about this in more detail contact me. Individually we are a drop - together we are an ocean.
Yours socially
