Fast forward 20+ years and you have Twitter, a prolific and powerful way of communicating with and to the world. With 100 million active users around the world pumping out 6000 tweets per second, the world suddenly becomes very interlinked.
I love Twitter as I firmly believe in the power of 6, that someone knows someone who knows someone. Things happen extremely quickly as I have experienced myself on many occasions. What could take days to achieve, can now happen in hours.
This week I have been following #findmike - I have enclosed links so that you may read the story yourself. It is a powerful example of social media at its best and most positive. Searching for someone who made an impact on your life many years before and not knowing their name and using social media platforms to search and successfully find who you are looking for in 6 weeks is to me, utterly amazing.

Twitter is not just about placing mundane conversations, pics of the dog and life quotes. It is so much more, sharing useful and interesting content. It is a powerful medium. Among the clutter and tumbleweed of tweets there are tweets that shine likes stars that have the power to shine so brightly that people naturally want to get involved and help. And this campaign certainly shone like a bright star!
What powerful and positive experience do you have of Twitter?
