What's your #1 tip when dealing with clients?
Be confident in your skills and treat each client with respect and
professionalism.
What is your most memorable experience as a business owner in France?I'm relatively new to my business in France (just 1 year), but will answer from the perspective of spending 15+ years as a performer and teacher. My most memorable moments are when a student discovers how to do something in a lesson after working towards a skill for a long time, and then it just clicks for them. I love helping students reach their potential.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love working with people; in my work of teaching I help students of all ages. In my performing, I help create a beautiful atmosphere for a wedding or fete or concert. The listener can forget their worries and enjoy that moment of music.
hat do you do to switch off from your business?
I am fortunate that I have time to spend with my family and I am at the moment in a part time position. I have a 4 year old son and baby daughter so I focus on them when I'm not working on my administrative or musical tasks.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in business in France?
Be patient, make connections with those in your community, and enjoy the journey.
What's the best book you have ever read?
Do I answer with a brainy one or a silly one?! I loved reading "Gone with the Wind" as a young girl...and it took me a long time, but a rite of passage into adulthood was reading Ayn Rand's "Atlas Shrugged".
A penguin walks through your front door wearing a sombrero. What does he say and why is he there?
He says "When do we start? I'm ready to play with the mariachi band.
